About Wallace Seeds

The Wallace farm was homesteaded in 1879 by 28-year-old Joseph Wallace, 4 miles South-East of Pilot Mound, MB. Fast forward over a century to 2010 when Brad and Joe Wallace took an opportunity to buy a friend’s seed plant in Crystal City who they had been growing seed for. In 2013 the cleaning equipment was moved home to a new building where it is currently operated.

Presently we grow a diverse array of seed crops including wheat, barley, soybeans, oats, flax, and peas across our farm. In the winter months when the farm machinery is tucked away, we run most of our production through the cleaning plant. We also offer custom grain cleaning to customers as well.

In early 2022, we added our first big expansion onto the seed plant since moving it home: two bins over top of our scale, with a leg to handle the clean grain. This allows us to handle our customer's seed quickly and efficiently, as well as being very gentle on the crop.
